Educational Background B.A. in Speech Communications and Business Administration, Trinity University
Philosophy of Education My goal in education is to expand students' knowledge and ability to think critically and logically about the world God created. I love that math explains some of the ways God brought order into the world, and that we can learn more about His character by studying it - we have a formula for and can graph gravitational force! Sound waves follow patterns and can be graphed! Veins on leaves and rock strata can form perfectly parallel lines! I aim to respect and show kindness to every student, and see their confidence grow as they master new topics. A firm foundation in middle school math will prepare students for higher learning in high school and college.
What do you love most about teaching? I love getting to know students and what motivates them to learn. It is a joy to witness lightbulbs go off when a student finally understands a difficult concept, and suddenly gains confidence in his or her ability to master new topics. It is a privilege to be a part of shaping students into lifelong learners and nurture their minds and spirits. Middle schoolers are also just fun to be around!
