Upper Elementary Art

4TH & 5TH GRADE:

Students will learn the elements of art and art principles in a choice-based setting/art makerspace.

Students at this level are self-motivated and regarded as artists in the studio where they control their own subject matter, materials and approach. Experimentation and mistakes are honored within the art makerspace. Choice-based education supports multiple modes of learning and teaching. Resources available for inspiration are whole group demonstrations, reproductions, books, internet, and peer work. Students are also responsible for care of room and materials.
